Cloud Consciousness

Does everything animated have consciousness? Is that the life force that moves all things?

Are clouds aware that they’re breaking apart, for instance? Or do they experience it as a constant expansion and release?

Does it hurt?

Do they fight it, not realizing it’s the way of things, to fall apart and reassemble?

Is each droplet in a cloud aware of its place in the whole, or just its singular existence?

Does a cloud experience a plane cutting through it as a disruption to its cohesion? Like a fat-wristed baby sister knocking down a creation you spent so much time carefully building?

Does it relish the sun’s light and flaunt the patches it catches?

Does it merge when it collides with another? And does it label that “co-dependent” behavior and make itself wrong or bad for doing it, adding to its growing stack of bedside reading of self-improvement books? Or does it see it as an action, like any other, something that happens in nature, not reading too deeply into it (and thus doomed to repeat the…
